On 13th September 2025, Women’s Society hosted its very first event, Flower Arranging at Dahlia Beach, an afternoon dedicated to creativity, connection, and the timeless tradition of skill-sharing. The event was the perfect blend of learning, laughter, and community, bringing together women to celebrate creativity in a vibrant, floral setting.
Learning and Passing Down Skills
At Women’s Society, we understand that learning new skills and passing them down to the next generation is more than just a practical exercise—it’s a powerful way to connect, share wisdom, and foster confidence. By engaging in hands-on experiences like flower arranging, participants not only discover new techniques but also connect with traditions and knowledge that have been nurtured over generations. These shared experiences remind us that skills are a form of legacy, enriching both the individual and the wider community.
The Event Experience
Guided by a talented florist, our guests explored the art of growing, picking, and arranging dahlias in the magical surroundings of over 4,000 blooms at Dahlia Beach. From wandering past pastel beach huts to taking in the view from the iconic double-decker bus “Poggy,” every moment was designed to inspire creativity and connection. Each participant had the opportunity to craft their own hand-tied bouquet, learning professional techniques for arranging and wrapping flowers, before ending the evening with cake, non-alcoholic fizz, and plenty of laughter as the sun set over the field.
The atmosphere was buzzing with energy, creativity, and the sense of community that is at the heart of Women’s Society. It was a chance to make new connections, share stories, and experience the joy that comes from learning together in a supportive and empowering environment.
